Strange thing happened today while driving my 2010 RTV 900 with only 112 hours on it. (Engine oil and tranny fluid/filter changed with super UDT2 at 50 hours)
I had been driving up and down my paved driveway for about 30 minutes in M gear with the grandkids, and then on a level spot, doing about 10mph, it starting making a clunking noise and it slowed it down, I stopped it, checked underneath to make sure I hadn't run over something, because it almost felt like a flat tire. Started it up again and it was doing the same thing, but I kept going trying to get the grandkids back to the house, and it finally smoothed out.
Bought it back to the house and checked under the bed and found nothing out of place, fluid level was good. The linkage to the tranny seemed to be engaging M gear correctly and the other gears. BTW, the other day I noticed that it was left in 4WD after I had driven on the paved driveway for less than a mile. I disengaged that, and came back to the house and parked it until today.
So I took it back out later on a paved hill and from a standing stop, started in M gear and I felt a slight roughness, no serious noise, just as it started moving. It did not do that in L gear, but did do it in H gear, but not as much as M gear. Using the hand throttle I increased the engine rpm slightly because it was vibrating and it still did the same thing. Drove it on the grass and engaged and disengaged 4WD several time with no problems. Then I drove it several more times up and down the paved driveway and wasn't able to duplicate serious sounding clunking noise that happened earlier.
Now I'm concerned I may have a problem, just don't know how to isolate it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
