Shed Project

Where most here Buil shed to store there tractors & impliments . I,ve got one I,m sick of looking at & trying to keep from falling down . I,ve spent the last 6 months or so Cleaning out the Years of Junk & tired of fighting the Wasps & other critters so I finally decided its time for it to come down , the easy way . Heres the Progress pics. I,m still not done Yet & some things are still in it I have to sort out of the rubble But at Least most the wasps have moved on . Thanks for looking , Bob

This is what I started with & the last few pics are after I got the roof tin removed , I saved what tin & lumber thats reuseable .

This is Where I ended up last nite . Now I have to sort through the rubble to remove the parts & lumber I didn,t get out before I started tearing it down . Still more to tear apart & haul to the burnpile . But I,m getting closer . Next I,ll Dig the dirt down & haul it off for fill by the river & replace it with good dirt so I can get it planted in grass Hopefully before winter . Thanks for Looking . Bob

Thanks for the pics Bob. Good project. Looked like it was fun tearing it down.

So, are there plans for a new barn at some point in the future?

My place has an old barn ....or at least the sandstone wall remnants of it. i can't tear it up with my tractor ...I'm going to have a dozer in one of these days to bulldoze it all over.

Thanks Guys . Yep it was kind of fun . When I got to the taller part it sure made it a lot safer & easier with the forklift . Since I was perty well protected with the Mast & the top . But I was able to drag that 1 whole wall to the burnpile in one piece , so that made that part much easier .

I,m not really sure if I,ll build another one or not Doc as I,m shed poor , I allready tore 1 down & still have 3 other smaller sheds as well as 2 , 24x32 garages & a 40x60 metal building .

If this shed would have been up closer to the 2 garages I might have tried to save it . But I Might build a leanto up closer to store Lumber & impliments in . Once I get the forklift sold , Everything else I have will fit inside Except for one of the old Farmtrucks I,m going to restore & its been sitting outside since 1953 so I doubt it,ll hurt it anymore .

Its Pouring down rain now, so looks like this Projects on hold for a few days . I,ll update it when I get back on it. Thanks for Looking. Bob

Well the rain let up long enough for Me to clean out the burnpit & Dipose of the Scrap, nails, glass & such. I Got More of the building back in the Pit & its been raining ever since .

We haven,t had this kind of monsoon since early spring & It rained all nite the night before & all day yesterday at 1/2 to an inch an hour & it getting ready to start any time again . Theres no place for the water to go & the river running through the rear of Our property is over the first bank , But still not a threat to Us as its still a good 6 foot below the level of Our field .


Anyway , My Ponds Quadrupled in size now . & I,m sure all the seed I had planted recentlly is now in the bottom of the pond . Heres a few pics . If I can get the Burnpile at least started Hopefully I can get some More cleaned up & burnt , Rain or no rain . . Bob

It Finally Dryed up enough to get some more done on the Shed . Hopefully I,ll be done with it by the weekend if no more rain . Fill it in with more dirt & get it planted in grass . My Lil baby ponds back to the size I wanted it as well . Sorry about so many pics , I,m used to them showing up as thumbnails on the other forums I visit . Thanks Bob

Finally done Except for backfilling, leveling & seeding . Took longer then I thought as there was a lot of Junk Under the center section also . Thanks for looking . Bob

Wish we could get a little bit of that rain. We haven't had any rain since probably early August. Been patches all around us, but we haven't gotten anything. I have some trees that need planted, but the ground is so hard that I haven't even bothered to try. It is supposed to be this dry in July & August - not mid September.

Thanks Jim , Yep its been an odd year weatherwise for sure . this is the first year in awhile we are actually having 4 seasons again the last several it went from winter to summer & back to winter it seemed . I Hope you get some rain soon . Bob

Looks like you got it handled! I've done a few of them sheds for people around here. O would have saved more then what you did, but that's just me!
