Snowing here this morning as well. I'm on the fence on whether I'll get peas in this year. They should be going in now but I don't know if I can get in the garden as it's too soft for the tractor/tiller.

LOL we still have 18 to 20 inches of frost in the ground here.Id need blasting caps to do any tilling lol.
It has to come soon. All I can say is so much for Wired Al's global warming theory!

Winter had to give us one last blast here. Supposed to warm up to the 70s this weekend, and 80s next week, can finally get out and get some things done!

Show how comfort the weather is. Here is Mrs. Two Guns showing a new born kitten found on the place. Notice she's kicked off her shoes.

Mother cat had 5, which was 4 days ago. She decided to have them in a
Star of Jasmine bush beside our home. Bushes are really thick.

Now, knowing it was going to rain today. Mrs. Two Guns and myself, took
a two military shelter halfs,(you remember these, don't you ) snapped them together, and threw over the bushes to keep rain off kittens.

Must be getting softer in my older age.
Checked on kittens this morning at first light. ( in the pouring down rain )
Timed the shelter just right. Mama cat & kittens are dry !!!!

For now, I am not !!!! :bonk:

What are you going to do with all the kittens? Is the mama cat yours or a stray?

18 degrees when I first looked at the thermometer this morning. On its way up to a balmy 38 for the day!

There is enough old women and children threw town that we can make
them happy people.

Superior Rodent Control for barns, shops, and even homes .....

Mama cat is a outside cat that I feed around the shop.

I agree Heatwave, It was cold as stink here in Madison county Miss and a cold wet rain. Bahh . Sure am tired of this stuff - need to plant the garden too. bordercollie

Here in Sugar Valley the cold and wet just goes on and on.......What garden???....That muck out there, when I tried to plant onion sets the other day, takes me back to the rice paddies and dodgin tracers and shrapnel........God bless......Dennis

It's wet and nasty here also. We haven't seen two days in a row of sunshine in a long time. I wonder how long it will be before I am saying its too hot and dry? Lol

20f at 8:00am today Apr 4..Still snow on the ground and the maple syrup is in full production.

I dont think the GOVT has taxed spring enough and didnt make the quota for winter taxes so we mot see warmth till august lol.

Spring is here. The manure chunks I spread on the garden with the skid steer thawed a little and this morning i fired up the tractor and mounted the big tiller. Took a few passes to bust up the frozen pieces but I got all but one big one ground up and mixed in with the ashes from the boiler. Left tire tracks in the yard but I need to roll and fix a lot of tire tracks just from my vehicles so no big deal. Went around my pasture fence and fixed a spot the deer knocked one wire down and then climbed up in the hay mow and threw a few bales down for the cows that are coming this weekend. Going to plant onions and peas Saturday before the rain comes. Wanted to plant the strawberries but I am beat. Maybe tomorrow as we are to hit upper 40's then.
