Mr. Peanut:
My stick stopper kit arrived in good order this morning. Holy moly ... that is a lotta steel! I will get the kit installed later this week. For sure, it will last me all the days of my life, and then some. Many, many thanks.

glad they made it to you ok.yea they sure are made out of steel.they should cover the whole axle and boot pretty good.got one more set to finish then i'll take a break. just wait til i get an rtv then we'll have some parts for them for sure.

Tommy: I was a PE major. I need guidance on installing the stick stoppers. I searched this forum for pix in prior posts, but the pix no longer appear in the posts.

1. Are the stoppers for both front and rear wheels, or front only?

2. The front A-arms have two bolts attaching the OEM plastic stick stoppers. I removed the OEM stoppers and the attachment bar to which they bolt.

3. Your stoppers are shaped to fit the A-arms. Do the triangular-shaped parts bolt through the OEM stopper holes?

4. There are two "wavy" plates, each with an angle on one end. Their holes also line up with the OEM stopper holes. Do the wavy plates mount in front of the triangular parts---do the bolts go (i) through the wavy plate, then (ii) through the triangular part, then (iii) through the A-arm?

5. After the triangular parts are mounted, how are the small, flat plates attached?---Just place them above the A-arm and bolt them thru the triangular part below?

A coupla pix would really clear this up. If you---or anyone else reading this---can post a few pix, I believe I can knock this project out muy pronto.

I apologize for bugging the forum with these dumb questions, but we PE majors are full of those. And other stuff.

Many thanks for the links to Pinnacle's pix. Those helped a lot. A lot. The sun went down before I could get back to the project, and I wanted to watch the Braves/Mets game, so I'll get back to it tomorrow.

My RTV900 has a wheel-turn stopper bolted to the rear side of each A-arm. Do I unbolt the stopper, mount the triangular piece to the A-arm, then run bolts through the stopper and the triangular piece?

The triangular piece has me buffaloed. I don't understand (yet) how it factors into stick stopping, but I'll keep hacking at it.

Thanks again for the kit, your guidance, and the links you posted.

you reuse the two front bolts that hold on the stock boot guards the triangle piece is used as a sandwich to give extra holding power . the stickstoppers go under the a armas and the triangle piece goes on top then bolts together .the steering stop on the rear stays in place and doesn't need to be removed.the triangle piece you mentioned is the small one right?because thats the only triangle piece i can think of .unless your talking about the main stickstopper piece .in that case then you remove your stock boot guards and slide the big main stickstopper piece under the a-arm now the curved plate mounts to the front and is held in place with your original boot guards.the little triangle piece that has 6 holes in it goes on top of the a-arm and the bolts go through it and through the bottom plate.i'll mount up a set to my jig tomorrow and take some pictures for you to give you a better idea of what i'm saying.

look at pinnacles pics in the first post you will see the right picture is the stock ones and the left are mine that is the drivers side . now if you scroll down to post 16 you'll see the little triangle plate is mounted to the top and holds the stickstoppers in place.

I'm confusing you with the labels I use for the parts. Lemme try describing what I see, what I call it, and how I think it all fits together:

1. The stickstopper for each wheel is comprised of 3 parts:

a. The A-arm piece, which is a flat plate with a full-length vertical plate welded across the front and a shorter vertical tab welded across the rear.

b. The small top-plate that bolts the A-arm piece in place with 6 bolts-washers-nuts. There's nothing else holding the A-arm piece in place at this moment ... only the small top-plate and the 6 bolts through it. I see that on Pinnacle's pic.

c. The curved plate, radiused at one end ... the radiused end mounts toward the wheel.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. The order of installation is as follows:

1. Remove the OEM stick stoppers

2. Install the A-arm piece by bolting it to the small top-plate that goes above the A-arm.

3. Place the curved/radiused plate in front of the A-arm piece so that the mounting holes line up with the holes in the A-arm. Bolt the curved/radiused plate through the A-arm piece and through the A-arm with two bolts-washers-nuts. The OEM stickstopper bolts are too short for this.

4. Repeat on the other side.

I think I'm confused by the curved/radiused piece mounting atop (or in front of) the vertical piece that's part of the A-arm piece. It's two sheets of steel bolted to each other, which seems redundant and counter-intuitive, and, when completed, the new unit doesn't shield the drive-shaft boots as well as did the OEM plastic shields.

Can you help me un-confuse myself?

as for as i knew the two front bolts should have been long enough to reuse.i used to send new bolts a bit longer but people said they just reused their stock bolts.the curved front plate is what protects it from the front.i left a bit extra hieght to the stickstoppers just incase you wanted to run it without the curved plate .but running it with just the flat plate that is welded to the a-arms will give you a bit more coverage than your oem boot guards.i can get you some longer bolts for the front sent to you thats no problem.better yet go to lowes with your stock front bolts and get you two newer longer ones pm me with the cost and i'll send you the money. it shouldn't be much more that 4 dollars.i'm gonna draw up a picture tonight of how to install them but it seems you have them installed the right way it just sounds like the two front stock bolts are too short. i sorry for the troubles your havin .from now on i'll send out the pictures i draw up of the install and will be putting the longer bolts back into the boxs again.

can you take a picture of them showing me that they cover less than the stock ones i'm confused by that ?you can pm me and i'll give you my cell number or give me your number and i'll call you so it won't cost you anything on the call.
