I cleared a trail I had ridden a few years ago on the ATV, but never with the RTV. I knew it was slick the other day when i was chainsawing on it, but I tried to go up it anyway. Thought a day of sunshine would have dried it up some. Wrong.

I got 80% up the hill and she stopped dead. Tried the differential for the first time ever. No avail. started sliding off the edge when I started backing down. Had to have my wife get out just to be safe. First time ever that I thought for sure I was going to flip it.

After she was out I rode the edge about 10 foot and then was able to steer back to the middle. Whew. No stained shorts but the pucker factor was right up there.

I have been ther a couple of times Doc. The second time I used my head and tied off the roll bar to a tree on the upper side. Actually had both downhill wheels over the side for a couple of yards but the rig (Toyo Landcruiser) could not roll or slip downhill. Did the same with a friends UTV last year. He had a winch so we just ran the wire off the front up around a tree (Used a roller snatchblock on the tree) and then to to a pull ring on the rear hitch. If you can find a good anchor point this allows you to travel a couple of vehicle lengths with no chance of losing your vehicle over the side.

Us old people should know better.
