Swapping Gator for RTVX 1100c

I am a new member seriesly considering trading my 2012 855D Gator for a RTVX 1100C. I have been satisfied with my Gator but I am interested in getting something with a cab. Will I be disappointed swapping to the RTV X 1100c ? I haven't read of very many problems people are having, except for the low power when the AC in on. Is this a problem isolated to a few machines or are all RTV's like this? Any other reasons I shouldn't consider making the trade from a Gator to the RTV?

I'll bet most of us would swap for the 1100C but IIWM, I'd go to the Kubota dealer/dealers, price shop and drive one. If/when you are happy with the price, drive the one you want to buy. If you're happy then you'll be happy in the future. Bob

I know little about the Gator. But, I agree with Bob. You definitely need to spend a few minutes putzing around in an RTV. Paying special attention to the drive system, start/stop, changing direction, etc.

Anxious to hear your opinions.

I did demo one last week and I was very impressed with the ride and handling of the RTV. I especially liked the dynamic engine breaking. However I didn't turn on the AC, I hadn't read of the lost power with AC on issue till after I test drove it.

I think the AC problem is overstated and quite possible only one machine that has a bad problem. I own two RTV. one is a 2008 RTV1100cw the other is a 2014 RTVX1100c I use the AC in both and they both act similar as far as the AC is concerned. if i were you and i decided to get the RTV then i would just drive it with the ac on for a few minutes just to see if it is an affected machine.

I had an 04 gas hpx and it was a beast the only reason I would go with the rtv is the cab but you can also get a cab for the gator, the belt drive is a lot easier to maintain the more it wears down the slower you go. but in the 5 years I owned my gator I went through one belt and the stock belt was still good I just went with a after market belt.

I worked for a municipal public works in south Mississippi we had gators and Rtv's the two C models was used daily a/c on always never had a problem. When I retired after 30+ the first thing I purchased was a Rtv to use on my property they are work horses my sister has a gator and she barrows my RTV our sections are side by side
