Might as well bring it up now while all the references are available.

What say you? (Beyond the fact the Maxxis Bighorns are the best there is). :hide:

I don't care for the Work site tires in my application here on the farm. The lugs were straight up and would not clean out well in mud . I would just get stuck all the time sooo, I bought a set of 25"mudlite xl's and almost wore them out before bulges started appearing in the rear -Then I got the 27" ITP XTR's and now the 26"ITP 589's.I loved the pulling and slanted deep lugs of both tires ... but had to use the warranty on the rear XTR's- maybe because of pulling heavy skidded loads but I sent the info and pictures to Carlisle/ITP and received replacements....same thing happened again so bought the 589's and love 'em. Other members said they were good and I agree.Pull nice too. I have almost 3100 hrs on my '05 RTV 900. Bordercollie

Essex Surefoot tires

Has anyone had experience with the Essex Surefoot Kevlar belted tires? What size for clearance on the RTV900? Ride quality on hard dirt? Best deals on the tires?

Hi Captain. I did a lot of research on the Essex Surefoots before I decided on the 589's. The sidewalls are very stiff and will give a rough ride . They are also heavy and I was a little concerned about how that would effect my axles/joints. I would like the flat proof aspect of them and the tread but the roughness in cow pastures would be a minus. I googled them and found prices to compare but I can't remember exactly but around 100- 135 $ each? Good Luck Bordercollie

Had a set like em on our last Honda Foreman....absolutely loved them! Never once got hung up, but man do they sling the mud when you get gnarly in the deep stuff!!!!!! A little vibraty on the road, but I can live with it for the benefits. The rubber is quite durable too when used on blacktop. When our current tires wear out on our Foreman 450...these will be on it!

In the winter months, the 589's do me great.
Only thing different I would do is get the 26 inchers other than the 27 inchers.
They will go just as far, would of saved a little money.
The 589's are not ruff at all
Picked 'em up at all terrain online .com
Great company to deal with. Purshased several nice things from that company, winches, winch covers , mounting plates >>>

In the summer months, running the OEM KUBOTA atv tires like what is on the camo models

........ two guns

I have the essex sure foot tires and love them. The weight is not that big a deal and they are designed to hold the weight that the kubota can carry. The itps are rated at around 450lbs a tire so with a cab and two people you are over weight on the tires. I am very pleased with the sure foot tires. Also don't go two big on the tire size it will rob power big time. I had 27" itp wold not get out of its own way. When I got the sure foot tires I went with the 25" they are a little bigger than the work site tires but don't rob the power.
