Nope not with that issue. I have a hydro. I would sure be concerned though.
How old is the tractor? How many hours are on it? Are you dealing with the original owner?

Would not give much for it......rear end parts are outa site if still available.
If you can't diy....my as well forget about it.

HE IS ASKING $1000 WITH A FINISH MOWER, BUT MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN THAT IT COSTS AT LEAST $1000 ANYTIME YOU HAVE TO OPEN A TRANS CASE. I HAVE DECIDED TO PASS ON THE DEAL. AROUND HERE IN GOOD SHAPE IT'S ONLY WORTH $900 TO $1200.

It's sad you cant fix anything anymore because of the cost.
I used to buy a used car for a winter fix up just to have a winter project.
No more....last one I lost a few dollars on it so gave it up.
Everything is just getting outa site now days....seems like to me anyway.

i buy and sell old tractors as a side line. i have a 1950 8n ford that i bought not running, but it looked descent, got it running , $300, found it needed rings and the clutch was stuck to the flywheel, $250. i am in the process of putting it back together now. then i have to check the brakes, not much pedal, axle seal leaking. and who knows about the paint.restored this tractor is worth about $2500, thats just about what i will have invested, and that dosen't include labor, you just gotta enjoy what your doing.
