what are the realy major problems with the rtv's

I still have no idea why these things don't make use of the hydrostatic unit they come with, and have a shuttle shift lever for forward/reverse. It just seems so childish to actually force the driver to "shift" into and out of physical gear ratios for forward and reverse when all that is needed is to push the hydro unit the other way in any of the current forward gears and viola.... instant reverse. No crap trying to get gears to align.

But that's just me.

Not just you....ME TOO... Guess you didn,t get a chance to play around with the hydro lever, eh?..FYI a while back while setting up linkage adjustments I was able to induce reverse creep while playing with the linkage and that lever on top of the unit is capable of significant travel in the reverse direction. Haven't been able to get any feedback on whether it would be safe to actualy try reversing by jurry rigging a way to try it.

I promised never to bring up this subject again...but that doesn't mean I can't respond to its mention... :-)

Yeah, the 4WD shaft rattle is gone now on the RTV900. That shaft was changed from a 2-piece design to a much better 1-piece design with CV-joints on each end. The RTV1100 had this 1-piece design from the beginning. The rear u-joints (outside propeller shafts) have not changed yet, but the RTV1100 has a slightly stronger version of it.
