Whoops oil put in transmission

My associate was "changing the engine oil"; accidentally put 1 gal of engine oil into transmission filler plug. Engine was never started. We drained the transmission and replaced both filters and refilled with transmission oil. Am I safe by draining overnight and refilling or do I need to have the unit flushed?

Hi there. Welcome to our forums.
I could take a guess at the answer but in all honesty I'm afraid I could cost you a lot of bucks if wrong.
One of our pros should pop in soon and have an educated answer. Good luck.

Well, it appears no one else has run into this.
I'd suggest calling your dealer service dept and ask them. Then call another dealer and talk to their service dept. If you get the same answer from both I'd go with whatever they suggest. Good luck. Please share your solution with us.

I have done quads and bikes for near 40 years.
If I do an engine that was flooded (with water), I Drain it, refill. THEN run about 1 to 3 minutes to get warm, and drain again, for a long time.
My small engine buddy (Briggs, Kohler) does 3 flushes. At the cost of a Hydro, I would do at least 1 run and flush.
