i was just asked if i could make a highrise air intake setup for the rtv can anyone post some pictures of their rtv highrise system from bota and try to put a tapemeasure in the picture for measurements . i know for sure before i even look at it or try to build it that i can cut the price in 1/2 or close to half the price they sell their for.thanks "peanut"

You have seen how i did mine and it cost very little and it is out of the way, just connect a flex hose to the air filter can and run it up and tuck it under the roof.
yea i was doind some searching and i see that it's a real simple thing to do.i can't see why they would sell that kit for that much.but after thinkin about it a year or so ago i went out and tried to buy one for my rhino and it was over 200.00 for that kit. when i got the kit in i found that it didn't fit and that for 200.00 +dollars i just got a bunch of pvc pipe and fitting.after giving it some thought i won't me makeing this kit because it would just be ripping you guys off. the idea i did come up with is you guys need to make a thread on pictures of the kit and pick the best one out of the bunch then that member who has the best looking one can take measurements of all his pvc pipe and count and list the fittings .i made my snorkel kit from pvc and i recomend everyone make theirs out of the same .iron pipe will corode on the inside and then start to flake off after a while thats one reason they use pvc it will never corode.it cost me 50 or 60 dollars to make my snorkel kit for my rhino and it took alot more fitting than what it would take for an rtv.the shipping alone would be more than the kit is worth and it would be a scam to try and sell that to you guys.the best stuff to use is black pvc and spa hose.the pvc is really cheap arouns 4.00 for 5' and the fittings are around 1.50 and maybe 2.50 at the most so a little trip to lowes would save you alot of money.i'll post a picture of my rhino and show you just how simple it is.you should be able to just take your original air box and use it at the top of the snorkel there is no need to buy a new breather or filter. so really all you should need is 2'of spa hose 5'of black pvc and a few pvc 90's and maybe one or two 45's. i would suggest you go yank your air breather canister off and see what size hole it has on the engine intake. run the hose to that and to the bottom of the cab then come up with a pvc pipe .this is a really simple thing to make and even cheaper.remember don't make it out of iron pipe that will only mess things up.if those little pieces of metal get into your engine it's done for.with everyones help we can make a snorkel kit thread that would help others out.the money you will save can be used for fuel or other stuff .in todays economy why spend money you don't need to.
thats the way i would do it .if you look at twoguns pic all you need is some spa hose and a few clamps .twoguns if that is a metal pipe you have i would inspect that pipe every year maybe twice a year.if you can take it out all together and run some hose all the way to your breather from the engine intake.that metal pipe isn't really good for intakes.scap the 45's and 90's just use spa hose from the engine to the breather. i can see spending over 40.00 dollars for making a snorkel for the rtv it's really to simple.
bingo.just what i did. all thats needed is pvc drain pipe and some fitting and your done
it would be best to have the filter at the top otherwise the tube will fill up with dust.you need to have the filter at the point where the air come into the pipe other wise all that dust will stick to the sides of the pipe and slow down the flow of air . leaving the filter in the original location is defeating the purpose of the highrise intake.if you put another filter at the top and leave the bottom filter in to that too will cut down on the air flow and hurt the performance of the engine.
I have to disagree with you some on that Peanut. If you get your air intake up where the air is clean, there is no dust to stick to the pipe. The other point, if by some poor luck you get a hole in the high rise pipe, if the filter is up high you will suck dirt. If the filter is in the original position, you haven't passed the filter. If you are worried about stuff getting into the pipe, use a prefilter. Works wonders on my RZR.
there is dust in the air all the way up to outer space you just can't see it .eventually it will build up in the tube. and after time it will cut down on the air flow.just because when you ride and just see dust around the bed level of the rtv or utv doesn't mean there isn't any dust being sucked in.those k&n pre filters really don't come with a high recomendation . red up on it at hunterworks . they recomend not useing them because they really don't stop the dust. todd posted pictures of the inside his air box when he used them and the picture wasn't very nice . the box was packed with dust. they are great for street riding where dust is a minimum but for offroad use they really suck excuse my french .lol. even just relocating the air box to the top you are still changing the amount of air you get to the engine now throw in a pre filter and you cut that down even more.i'm just saying that if it was my rtv i would relocate the air box to the end of the tube at the top and leave the prefilter out just so that the engine can get somewhat close to the air it was getting.i bet if you run your razor on a dyno with and without the frefilter you will notice a diferense in the razor's hp output.now another thing is your razor is probably efi like my rhino and those are alot more forgiving than a carbed engine because the efi computer automaticly ajust to the difernt air system but it can only adjust so far. utv's are known for creating a vacume behind them. try this test if you want get a piece of plastic or metal and mount it right where the air come in at the top put some oil on it and then go ride and after the ride check the plate i bet it will have dust stuck to it. i'm sorry if i talk in crcls but i got some very bad news today and my head just ain't in the right place right now infact i will probably be taking a break from posting for a while so if i disapear from here thats why. the rtv is a deisel and it just inject the fuel right into the cylinders so it needs all the air it can get. i'm sorry i just can't think right now but all i'm saying is try not to restrict any air flow if you can and adding a snorkel tube and an extra filter is restricting the air flow even more. i'm sorry guys and gals i have to go ya'll take care just do what you think is best i'll see ya'll later hopefully. i would post a thread about whats going on but it would take me forever to type it down and i just can't think that much right now sorry.ya'll be good, see ya in a few months i hope bye!!

Also, don't know about the wonders of the RZR. But, also, let me add to this.
If the filter is in the original position, YOU CAN PASS THE AIR FILTER !!!!! The filter is not in the intake !!!!
For you still have a flex tube between the intake and the filter !!!! The filter is on the outside of the RTV frame behind the cab >>>>>
