Welcome Here !!!

Some of us have the "older models" which was nothing more than a screw and a mesh cap.

The new ones, are in the muffler system. Personally, I have not removed a "newbe model"., but know some who have, and EVERYBODY states is no big deal.

About the fuel pump, I would leave well enough alone. What are you wanting, more speed ?

Once you remove your spark arrestor, you will feel more power, and might want to think about a high rise intake.
Let's your engine breathe better, which will give you better performance !!!

Welcome! I agree with Two Guns on the fuel pump also. The new arrestors , at least on the 2011, is made into the inner of the tail pipe. There are a couple of bolts holding the tail pipe and when they are removed, the tail pipe and arrestor comes out as one piece. I just cut the screen off and replaced the tail pipe with the bolts. That is what I did since I operate it on private land and not any forests. bordercollie

BigDan, welsome to this great group. I'm somewhat new to this group. I'm sure you will find this forum very helpful as I have ands continue to benefit.

Bordercollie is very correct on the spark arrestor. A added tip I would provide id applying an anti-seize compound to the allen head capscrews. I use Fel-pro N5000. Any anti-seize that has some appreciable heat tolerance with work fine. Sure prevents galled threads.

Turning up the fuel pump may get some extra power but no extra speed. For the life of me, I can not reason why I need more power on my RTV 900 XT. I continue to be concerned with pulling too much of a load.

Merry Christmas,

Great thanks, I'll remove the arrestor today.your advice on the pump sounds good.havnt used its potential full power yet, just a habit of maxing things. Everyone have a great Christmas !!

Trust me, the RTV has the power. New models I hear even more.

Speed, well, it just the nature of the beast. Slow !!!!

That fine with most, go to fast, might miss something !!!!!

You will enjoy your RTV.

And please, don't go far, for all of us here at this site, will help you spend your money on your new toy !!!!!

Merry Christmas

Haven't found how to get to my pics yet to add to replies. Im on an I-Pad and do not see how to attach photos.I have installed a top and plan to get wench next. I'd also like to get some type of plow or disc for breaking up food plots, you guy will most likely have suggestions I can use on that. Great to become part of this group ! I would love suggestions for best add ons. Also just rolled 21 hours. Removed the spark arrestor about 30 minutes ago. Took 15 or 20 minutes to remove, cut the arrestor off and reinstall pipe. Took a short ride, not sure if a saw much difference but could tell the exhaust flows much better. Is there an aftermarket air filter for better intake ?

Dan,

Go to this forum section index with a cup of coffee and look through some of the current thread titles. I pasted a few below for your reading pleasure. We have lots of threads on subjects so a keyword search for something like "winch" will give you enough reading pleasure to keep you going until Santa arrives tonight. We can (and will) get you whatever info you need but these may get you info while people are offline for the Holidays.
