CRASH

TWO GUNS

As you all know, I've been driving back and forth checking on my father, who is doing GREAT.
Thank ALL of you for your prayers & support.

Looking for him to get released soon.

>>>> On the way back yesterday, at Noon straight up. I was coming down the highway and a car pulled out on me. Running about 75 mph plus when it happened. Just that quick she was there, and the split decision to hit her or the ditch. I jammed on brakes, skidding, going for the shoulder of the road, then she just turned where I was headed. At that point, all I could do is lay the bike down. Went skidding on the side pass her, just missed a steel pole, with the bike and myself gone threw a ditch, it finally stopped, on top of me. People was running over there, trying to get the bike off of me. It had me pinned down. Finally, a batch of men picked up the bike and dragged me out from under it.
They loaded me up in ambulance to hospital. No broken bones, road rash, right leg swollen, right ankle and foot spranged. Right shoulder cut up bad. Cuts on my right forarm to the bones.
Deep cuts on my legs and the mussels between my arm pit and elbow. Got no telling how many stitches inside and out my arms and legs. They put some kind of brace on my right leg. Wrapped up like a mummy.
My helment looks like it went threw a meat grinder.
They wanted me to stay in the hospital for a few days for observation. I said no, gotta get back home. Got Mrs. Two Guns to bring me in. So now, I am here. Mauled up like a crazy panther got ahold of me.
Hurts to even move. Hurts to even blink a eye.
It's been a very long week.
And yes, God was with me the WHOLE time, for I know. State Troopers come to the hospital emergency room and told me if I would have done anything different that what I did, I would be dead for sure.

Dang Jamie. You're having one terrible week.

I am so sorry to hear this. As you started the story, I mentally had you driving something with four wheels, and when I heard the word bike, there was a gasp and a cringe on my face.

I'm definitely glad to hear you're good enough to be able to go home but sad to hear about the extent of your injuries. Anything we can do for you?

Brian

Glad you pulled through with nothing major broke. You will for sure be hurting for a long while and as those road rash scabs come off they will remind you that 2 wheels are for young ones. I gave my riding up at 41 after busting my head and face pretty bad. And wrist and knee etc. Been on a few bikes since then but not for much street riding. Folks don't acknowledge anything that is not as big or bigger than they are. Hope you have a speedy recovery and don't hurt too bad. We know that hard cajun head came out OK but the rest is a little suspect.:bonk:

Tough week for sure Jamie. Sorry to hear about this. Like BC, when I realized you were on a bike I cringed. Thank God you were wearing a helmet.
Best wishes for a quick recovery.
Did the girl stick around and get ticketed for improper pulling out or something like that? Since you didn't hit her she might have kept on going and been totally unaware of the situation she caused. After all she did pull directly out in front of you.

Now, even more prayers for you and your dad. Although it sounds like it may hurt, but just remember to keep your head up. Things may seem real bad right now, what with your dad and now your accident but remember you still have family and friends, plus a home. There are those who are missing some of those great things (family, firend, home, etc). Get well, hunting season is here!

Dang Jamie, there aren't many bikers that can leave skin and bike parts all over the road and in the ditch and live to tell about it. I'm relieved to hear you are among the lucky few. I wish you a speedy recovery. Don't sit around and get sick. Get up and move around and get to the doctor right away if you get any fever or infection. Call me if you have any questions.

Two Guns, I am sure glad you had that helmet on!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know the injuries are very painful- God Bless you and your whole family!! I know He had his hand on you, you are sure right about that- Let Mrs. Two Guns know if she needs anything to give us a shout. bordercollie

Oh yes, she did stop. She is the one that called 911. The woman was a U.S. Soldier from a
camp close by, in full uniform. She was VERY helpful, she cried while holding my hands, kept wiping the blood off of me, until the medics showed up. Seems like she apologized a thousand times to me saying she was so sorry she caused the accident.

Mon oh man oh man...........Now you get to lay around and do lots of them pain pills and other legal drugs to your hearts content and more. Some guys have all the luck.

Did the girl, though sorry as can be, have insurance to replace the bike?.......Hard to even consider what all that will take; but something to start in on as you lay there gettin stiff and grumpy.............

Just another example of how HE watches out for those of us that HE does.......Just to be thankful for THAT and not wonder about the why..............God blesses........Dennis

I don't like the medicine they give me. They "zonk" me out. Make me feel funny.
So far, taken only a couple. Everytime they are taken, I miss out on much that is
around me. It's crazy.

Yes, she has insurance, I know I do, !!!! Bike is covered !!!!
If she didn't have it, or not enough, I did >>>>>

Few minutes ago, I sneezed, oh my, thought I was going to pull every stitch and muscle out of my body.
That hurt !!!!

Jamie, you don't have to go very far these days to find trouble, do you.?

I bet that hurts like hell. It's been a long time but as I remember it, that road rash hurts as much, if not more, than the more serious injuries.

Keep taking the drugs and heal fast. You were lucky brother. Someone was looking out for you and long may they continue to do so. Get better quick.

Jamie, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I've had too many friends hurt badly in biking accidents that were not their fault in any respect, and it took far too long to recover. Some went through major personality changes as a result. You sound like you are handling it well, and I pray for your speedy and complete recovery.

Bad luck comes in 3's ... you better stay in bed and take it easy a while. Sorry for your mishap. You're lucky to be here to tell us about it.

dang man i hide out for a few days and look what you got yourself into.people just don't see cycles like they see cars.i always wondered why they don't just put a white strobe light on them for daytime riding.material things can be replaced glad your doin ok .just lay back and let ms twoguns nurse you back .

Two Guns,,,You brought me out of retirement with your accident. Hope you get well soon and are feeling better. My prayers are with you....I will tell you what I can do for you....Peanuts sister is a full fledged Nurse and I will send her down to Louisiana so she can take care of you. That will give Mrs. Two Guns more time to fix you some delicious meals...that is if Peanuts sister doesn't eat all the food........LOL...........Get well soon My Friend...........

Jamie - That means they're working. They're supposed to do that.

i always wondered why they don't just put a white strobe light on them for daytime riding.
I believe they do on some of the newer bikes. I've been noticing bikes who's headlight strobes during the day. It does seem to help.
