Help with winch mount

bczoom and Tommy. I took bc's suggestion and went out and did some measuring. The fix is real simple do not know why I did not see it before. There are four threaded holes in the top of the grill guard and all that will be required is to get a 10" by 15" plate about 1/4" or 3/8" thick. Drill 4 holes 3 5/8" outfrom the 10" end. To match the hole pattern on the bumper. Two end holeslooks likethey are 81/4 on center, with the center holes 33/8" from the outside holes. Measurement looked like1 5/8" between center holesA couple of additional holes could be addedfor additional holding power if required but I doubt they would be required looking at the size of the threaded holes already in the grill guard. The mounting plate I bought at Harbor Tools could bolted directly to the plate or for that matter any winch probably.</P>

Now there's a coincidence. I sent you an e-mail with pretty much the same description at the same time you posted this.

A couple thoughts.
- You can make the plate the entire width (what is that, 15"?) or you can make it narrower. The winch mounting (and pulling) is offset to one side. You only need the plate on that side.
- Do you still have that Harbor Freight bracket? You could just make that narrower then drill through it. Make sure you check the offsets...

I second that motion,,,, like bczoom said <FONT color=#ff0000><FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffff" size=5>" CHECK THE OFFSETS "</FONT> </FONT></P>

Hope to get the plate fabricated tomorrow and as soon as it is finished I will post pictures. This mount would work for any winch you could buy all you would have do do is drill holes to match the bolt holes of the winch. Thanks to bc he got my old brain working and this will be a simple solution.

Completed MountPlate</P>

Plate isflat 10" X 15" quarter inch plate with the holes punched in to mount the Harbor Freight mount and winch. Four holes punched. sizedto allow installation of12 mm X 1.25 Threads to fit the Grill Guard. I am going to prime and paint tomorrow and try to post pictures. Every thing fits perfect and it turned out to be a simple fix.Better than paying the only out of pocket winch mount provider $89.95 for a mount.</P>

The winch is mounted on the vehicle and I tried to post pictures but could not accomplish that task. I sent them to bczoom hope he can post them for me I did it not sure how!!</P>

looks good you might wanna put two bolts where you have your wrenchs in the first picon the grey plate to keep it from flexing up and down on certain pulls.

Looking great!!!
