RTV 900 seems to be dragging

I have 2007 RTV900 with only 130 original hours on it. I obviously don't use it a lot, and it is in excellent condition. Lately it feels like the parking brake is on when driving... just sort of drags, and seems to need higher revs to get up to speed... also doesn't seem to have good pulling power up a slope. At first I thought the parking brake might not be releasing, but I checked that out and it is fine. Wondering now if it might be something else in the trans or other drive train component. All fluids and filters were changed at 70 hours (super UDT and kubota oil and filters) and it ran fine until now. Also removed spark sreen at 70 hours.

Hmm, I just bought a 2006 RTV900 and drove it today for the first time in a week or two. It seemed the same way. I had to check to ensure the parking brake was not on. It's cold here so I didn't drive it to long. I was thinking since it's hydro and the fluid is cold and that might be the reason it was acting like that.

Interested in what the more experienced RTV owners have to say on this.

Bingo Doc!

Up here I'd like to think we're experts on cold. when it's -30 it takes forever to warm up to the point that speed is reasonable, never fast mind you.

I let the motor run for 10 to 15 minutes then drive it slowly for 5 minutes or so before I even start to plow. Then I can plow gently and after 10 minutes I can open her up a bit and start to put er to work. At this point I have to open a window and turn down the heat...

Thanks CP. I was hoping that was what it was.

Hope that is the answer for WestBrookLawn also.....if he is in a cold climate.

If it's not the cold causing the turmoil you will probably want to take it to your Kubota dealer and have them check the hydraulic fluid and the hydraulic pressure. It can be adjusted but I don't know how to do it without the dealer's help.

The cold is only a hypothesis as I haven't owned the 1100 in the summer time yet. I'm hoping that it will turn into a wheel spinning speed demon in July!!

Hey, a boy can dream can't he?!

Wheel spinning speed demon 1100? Lol, don't know about that. Excellent work vehicle... wheel spinner, not so much!

When my 900 is sluggish like that I make the wife get behind and push. After a few hundred feet she starts cursing and it seems to motivate the RTV and it starts moving faster.:shitHitsFan::yum::yum:

Being from cold temps I can let you know it is generally cold thich UDT.
When the temps get below 30 here you need to start it up let it run about 10 minutes then put it in gear and drive it slow for about 2 minutes to let the warm thinner fluids circulate. When Temps hit 10 to 20 below here I add about 10 more minutes to warm up and a few more minutes in gear moving slowly to let the fluids circulate.Fluids and cold temps can play hell on anything as most times they get like molassas

Not me. I carry my wife to be my remote control gate opener. Some times she can ride inside with me, if its real cold in the box...

Ya rite! Not on my life!

LOL at least you let her ride in the back.I generally throw a rope around her neck and pull her along lmaoooooooooooooooooo

I was a little confused at the title of this thread at first. Either Westbrooklawn was a member of a secret underground RTV racing club or someone's been dressing his rig up like a queen...(not that there's anything wrong with that)

You can imagine my relief when I learned that his RTV was slow...

Mark - Have you installed a block and tranny heater for those cold days? I put a stick-on heater on both the engine and tranny and plug them in a couple hours before I'm going to need the RTV. It sure does like it...

NO I have no heaters on it.I may look into it if i have any problems but for now the 5 to 10 minute warm up wait isnt bad.Gives me time to load up food and wather for the geese.

Around here, the only thing we load up for the geese is a shotgun. Can't stand those nasty things around my pond.

Bob - Get a couple swans for your pond. They'll keep those geese out of there...

westbrook - Have you put it up on blocks and checked the wheels? Spinning them by hand in neutral and check turning under power. Also, the more wheels you have spinning the harder it works. E.g. keep it out of 4WD and/or diff lock unless needed.
