Re: RTV Starter ?
Ihad an intermittent short in a battery on my Gator and it would do the clicking thing. It was okay with the lights but under the starter load it would short and wouldn't crank sometimes. You would have to turn the key 5 to 20 times before it would start. When we replaced the battery it took care of everything.

I recently had a bad "lock out" sensor on the PTO lever of a Kubota 4310 that kept the engine from starting. Cleaned up the sensor and all was well. But I was in the shed and not 5 miles deep in alligators at night. Japanese electrics are not the best - but better than the English.

I always keep a tool kit under the RTV hood now.
