RTV & the NWTF

TWO GUNS

Senior Member
Yes, I got a warm feeling ....

Last nite, members of the local National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), came to me and ask if I could give them a hand with the special hunt this Friday for the disabled hunt. The NWTF calls this hunt, " Wheelin' Sportsman".
Wheelin' Sportsmen provides all people with disabilities opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. NWTF chapters host Wheelin' Sportsmen events across North America that help participants gain a sense of independence by learning to stay active in the outdoors on their own in between Wheelin' Sportsmen events.
Through events like Wheelin' Sportsmen's women's deer hunts or Ultimate Team-Ups, which pair hunters with diabilities with experienced hunting companions, able-bodied persons can join in the fun of putting the outdoors back into a person's life.
And knowing that our bottomland hardwoods, the national wildlife refuge here is noted as some of the last remaining, least disturbed timber in the Mississippi River Delta. This is some serious swampland.....

They need some help getting these disabled folks safely to their stands and help them with their hunts in this swampland. And they know, what the RTV will do in these swamps. Told them I would be honored to bring the RTV, smaller trailers, and anything else that needs to be to get these folks where they need to go to hunt.
Oh God, it sure made me feel good !!!! Words can't describe the way I feel .............
Been making plans in my head for these folks since they asked me.

Being I hunting these very woods and swamps most of my life. I know exactly where I want to put some of these people. Back in the early 90's,
The federal goverment purchased the land and turned it into a refuge.

With more than 50 million people with disabilities in the United States, Wheelin' Sportsmen fills a significant void.
And just maybe, ...............
I can do my little part to put some smiles on faces Friday ....

Once again Mr. Jamie, you are the man that walks the walk, NOT like so many that are the talkers in this world. Surely NOT volunteering anyone else; but if perhaps there is someway I or WE...hint hint....can help...Perhaps make it a project for US....Please let me know..........God bless YOU BUD........Dennis

Thank You for your kind words , thank all of you !!!
Dennis, don't know what else can be done. I am still trying to gain information on many things.
But do know one thing ALL can do. Pray for the safety and good weather of the hunt, and Pray that all goes well so that all the "hunters" can have a good time.

Ya'll cant imagine how excited I am about this. Wishing so much for these
hunters. I am praying all will have a good kill.
God as my judge, I am going to do everything in my power to make this something they will never forget.

Two Guns, if all in the world felt/acted with as much compassion and undestanding, what a wonderful world it would be. Keep up the good work, it might even rub off on others.

Its nice to see someone go out of their way to help the handicapped.Im in the same boat as most handicapped people but still push on..I really with the states would go a bit further to help out the handicapped allowing access or easier access for handicapped people. In michigan not much help unless you are in a wheel chair or loss of limb.Handicapped people are generally left out of most things in Michigan.

Send some of those folks up here Jamie. Got 3 flocks that come to the feeder every day. 37 birds total and they sure like the corn and leftover parrot feed. Watching 8 bearded ones as I type this. They like to grab an ear of corn with a part of husk and run. Then the other ones chase them like that one ear is special. I would host a hunt for handicapped if I could.

Sounds like they would have a blast there mulemen.
The hunt this time, is going to be deer & wild hogs.
If I'm not wrong, their Turkey hunt will be in a few months
when Turkey season opens up.
Any kill for them is a big plus ....

We are praying for safety & good weather.
Pray for the men and women for means much to them !!!!

We meet up a noon today and tomorrow.
