TWO GUNS

... if worring about the flood is not enough. Someone hacked our debit card # and wiped us smooth out, and then some. Don't know how they got our number. I do know that the number wasn't found on the internet. But whoever the sorry SOB's are, have been having a wonderful time ordering off the internet. Been at the bank for two solid days now. Trying to get everything back in order. Been on the phone contacting stores / vendors / suppliers of the fraud that has been taken place. Telling them not to send anything. Most of the people who we can get in touch with, has been pretty good about giving us address'. Some has given us the email address it was ordered from. And many are reversing the charges putting the money back in the bank. Most orders were suppose to be sent to a Virginia address.... And I do have the address !!!!
Enforcement don't have to do much searching, for I have done most for them. Now, if I can just get the agencies up in Virginia do go forth with the felony charges and serve the warrants. We will see & go from there >>>> Best they have their
things in order with God is all I can say.
Things that were ordered where sailboat expedition clothes, computers, computer software, expensive shoes & clothes, security cameras and set up systems, ( that was strange order) and Expensive electronic items from big suppliers.

Wanted everyone to keep a close eye on their accounts. The investigators advise me the best way is to check your accounts online every chance one get, to make sure there are not any crazy purchases made.
Just might take me and the men a nice trip to Virginia, to see how the air is up there. See what we can flush out !!!

Time Will Tell !!!!

that sad man a few years ago some guy or gal used my wifes card to buy a purse and some 700+ dollar shoes in newyork we got the money back but never heard if the back cught them.

Mine was also stolen a few years back. All it took was for me to notify the Credit Union that issued the card and all the rip off charges were reversed over the course of a few days. The charges were obviously not me as the merchandise was sent to an address in Tennessee. I got that address also. I didn't make the trip down there to further check it out though I thought about it.

Hope they get your account back in order soon two guns. It's a pain but with order tracking the banks can tell bogus charges pretty easily.

I also have to agree that checking your account often online is a great idea. That is how I caught them using my card and I was able to put a stop to it fairly quickly.

Sorry to hear this, for all of you.

I wasn't aware the banks would work so diligently to reverse the charges. That's one of the reasons I use a credit card instead of debit. If I see a fraudulent charge on the credit card, one quick call to the CC company and it's immediately reversed and they go after whomever made the charge.

.... they didn't . I am the one who made contacts with the venders and worked with them
to reverse the charge. Not the bank. Spent many hours digging up numbers and making phone calls trying to at make things as close as I can to right.

The "bank", has not really done that much. Matter of fact, found out Monday, that the bank officer I contacted at his house Sunday. Should have given me a number to call to stop things in their tracts there. But instead, he told me to be at the bank early, first thing Tuesday to see what we can do.
Really, the only thing the bank has done is give me a lady and a computer to scroll down and figure what fraud purchases were made.

Drat!!! That's really scary! Thanks for the post...makes me worry a lot....will put closer eye on my CC charges, although I look monthly, guess I need to watch more often.

Today, I got a phone call recording.... claim was that a $50 card was waiting for me because of a recent purchase at Walmart... if I'd give credit card number to pay the $1.00 shipping costs. I hung up but admit that I thought about it for a second before hanging up.... it was convincing since I have made a recent Walmart purchase...but, then, who in America hasn't recently done so.

Its a sad day when I read stuff like this.
Im NOT going to post what I would say or would like to do to them when they get caught.
Ill just say Springfield armory does 99% of my talking any more

I hope and pray you get it all straightened out

Regards

Mark

Try to buy your gas in cash....alot have been stolen that way.
Also you should wrap your cards in aluminum foil as the new thing out there people have special devies that can scan your wallet or purse as you walk by.

..... you are right about the cash for fuel !!!!

....... two guns

My dad always said to me.....if you don't have the cash to buy it you don't need it.......lol
My dad died before the puter age....Dad how you gona pay for things over the net?
I can hear him now......you don't need it.....lol
And as for the stock market....he said play it if you can afford to lose it.
I can't afford to lose it so I never played in it.
I have never paid for gas other than by cash and eating out always by cash.

Two Guns I learned something....always use a credit card rather than your own debit card as the video said.

I have used my debit card before online....never again.....I'll use my credit card as any purchase over 10 dollars they call me and send me a email....so I know whats going on....my debit card at the bank won't do that.

Have to call the bank on Monday and see whats happens if something was to charged on my debit card that I did not buy and see what my liability is.

If am gona be stuck with it....I'll have to cancel that card with my bank as my bank is a Independent Bank.

I new about never let your card outa your own hand.
I seen a lot of people let there cards be taken to pay a dinner then bring the card back to you.

Thanks for the info TG

Sad times we live in today huh?

That's is right. My Mom had this sort of thing happen with her checking acct in April. Your money isn't safe there in the bank neither! Somehow , and just know that my Mom lives in a first name basis town, someone she wrote a check to evidently, copied the info on the check and made some. They went across state lines to Wally World in N Ms and bought electronics. Like 1200$ worth. She just happened to check her balance and discovered the "check" had been presented at the bank and would make her od. She got a bum ck call when we were there visiting and the lady on the phone said this was the 5th time that had occurred that day in her calls to people. The bank refused the ck so WW thought it was a bad ck. The bank didn't tell them why- making Mom look bad. We have it straight now but the impersonator with the fake drivers license is still out there with 2 flat screens and other stuff. Police reports etc have been filed. WMart did capture her image on video but it is poor quality. Supposedly it was featured on crime stoppers up there. By the way, the check that was "made" is only 4 numbers off of where she is now and she still has that ck number in her ck book! bordercollie

Dang, guys, I'm getting actually scared now....seems that the probability of this happening re credit card/identity problems is now higher than having stuff stolen or being assaulted/robbed....not a scientific statement/study, just based on how many of you have recent first hand experience with the problem.

Only thing I can think of to do, off hand, is to use only CREDIT cards(am doing), reduce number of cards held (down to 3 already), change card numbers every few months (haven't done), use pin numbers always, use mostly cash (am doing, amazing how difficult it is to use $100 bill and get change these days).
