What did you do today with your RTV?

Hey I think I may have managed to get it up on youtube lol.
RTV hitchworks demo of the bedlift kit on my RTV 900
A tad bit overloaded possibly.

Looks like it works at the same speed as OEM which is good.

Can you reload that firewood then look under the bed and tell us if the rubber bumpers below the frame is hitting the springs?

LOL here you come over and reload it and ill look for you lol
rear was low tired low and didnt steer very well so id say very over loaded 1000 pounds plus
That was 1 of several loads coming out of the woods so next load ill check for ya to see if the stoppers are bottomed out.Sure was nice to NOT to have to manually unload that mess.I never seen so much water come out of a log when it was being split.Eack piece was about 36 inches in diameter and probably squeexed a half gallon just from the wedge going in. wrong load that was the small maple loaded but machine squatted the same on both loads.

Mark - I was thinking of you and your video yesterday as I was doing firewood.

Out of curiosity, why do you dump all the wood on the ground? You then need to pick it back up to split or stack. I back the loaded RTV up to the woodshed then grab a log off the RTV and run it through the splitter. Saves bending over to grab the chunks off the ground.

I often wonder why myself lol.
Seriously i get my wood from all over and get it when I can before the scavangers scoop it up.I dump it in my stock pile where it is in a wide open sunny area to dry out then I can split at my convience. Its easier for me as I work alone to go cut one day then spend 2 or 3 days loading it up from the woods dump it then go back for more. Then when summer hits and kids are out of school I can split at my convience .I back my machine right up to the splitter and use the tail gate like a table where I can split then roll it right in the box.The bigger logs half split roll it off to the side of the tail gate and work on the halfs. From there it gets hauled to the other side of the property to the wood house and I dump it there for the kids to stack.
Actually its a good system for me and I always have my stock pile out in the sun baking all summer.

yesterday I hauled a load of fire wood that I got from cutting down a fallen tree from a neighbors pasture then hauled 6 loads of horse and mule poop for her.She go sick this winter and fell behind so im helping her play catch up.Still have another 6 to 8 loads of poop to get hauled out. What a poopy job!

Mark, I bet you were glad of that dump bed but still" pooped" :yum: from loading it. good job ! bordercollie

What a load of chit. :yum: Couldn't resist. Good job Mark!!! Way to help out a lady in need. :tiphat:

LOL just rub it in lol.Im always the one to donate time to help the elderly people around with no charge to them at all.Ill have her back up to date soon.Just waiting for the poop cicles to thaw out now to clean up the rest.

about 4 more cords of wood hauled in from the woods and a few more loads of Democrates I mean horse shit hauled out.More planned for today if i get past some projects.I need to figure out a way to make mounts for a log roller and some way to make a cargo box for the front to hold chain saws and gas cans and oil plus drinks and other wood cutting stuff.Any one have any suggestions??Has to be removable also.I was thinking coming off the 1.25 front hitch then 90 up a foot the 90 foreward and making a small cargo carrier and clamps to help hold it in place attached to the front frill guard.

I hauled a ton and 1/2 of gravel to the slip part of my trails. Very steep hills and the RTV performed like a champ. Sure could notice the load. I did it in 4 loads. 3 good size loads and a small load to end things up.
Had to air up the tires after the first load when I noticed the RTV squatting more than desirable.
How much air do you all run in your tires. My tires were way to muddy to read the load limits on the tires and I didn't want to stop the work to wash em off.

Doc - I think I run 18-19 pounds. It probably varies by mfgr.

For a log hauler, how about something like this?

For a front tool box, how about a plastic (lighter then the steel ones) trailer tongue tool box? I tried it several years ago and it wasn't for me but I think it's because it was too big for my needs. I opted for the front rack and I just put things on there and strap them down.

dump kit

Did that dump kit from hitch works come with the hand lever. RTV came without dump and hydro. So if I got this kit was wondering about the hand lever. Chad in TN

The Dump kit from hitchworks comes with a 3 position switch that you can place anywhere to activate the pump.It has been a life saver for me already.I have mine mounted in the turn signal switch hole.Even with my MS it only took me about an hour for the full install and that was because I had to chisel and melt ice out of the frame area that I wanted to run the hoses through.IMO its a great product easy to install and wont dissapoint!

To clarify its a 3 position center off switch you press one way it raises the bed when you release pressure the pump goes off then hit the switch the other way the bed lowers. Its a momentary switch which is only applies power wile pressing it .If you want pics let me know ill shoot a full set for ya so you can see.

Regards

Mark

dump kit

That sounds like a very good kit. The OEM kit is a little high on cost. Pics would be awsome! Thanks for the info. Chad
