Hi all, the starter on my 900 is acting up. sometimes it will spin without engaging a few times and then finally start cranking. I know the basics of starters, and that the gear isnt sliding to engage the flywheel, just wondering if its easy or possible to take apart and clean up and lube it...

when I had that problem it was the soleniod itself, so I don't think seafoam will help. On mine the rubber boot on the solenoid was ripped anyway, so I squirted some wd 40 in there and put a weak spring on the linkage to help pull it back. Been good so far.. (all winter)

Ok, I was just out fiddling with it again, and it DOES work now... as OVRSZD suggested, If i hold the tilt lever and pull the handle it works fine. I dont have the auxilliary outlets... but yes the pruner has a cylinder inside it. There is a lever, like a gas pump lever to activate the shears, but it doesnt seem to do anything. As I said, I can operate the shears with tilt lever, so its getting oil, but not operating like it should.
