not hard, however the head gasket rarely goes bad. Usually, it is the head that cracks when they overheat. Also if it has been run with the cracked head, check the compression because it isn't uncommon for the connecting rods to bend.

I am not sure about the non diesel models, but the way the hydrostat works with the transmission there is a fine line between speed and the ability to climb hills. You can milk a little more speed out of the diesel models but in the end you will not be able to climb hills.

the X1140 and the X1100 have the same transmission and HST unit. go to www.kubotabooks.com and down load a workshop manual the quantities are in there. Make sure you use only Kubota Super UDT2 when you re fill it.
