I don't worry about erosion... I put tarps on my mile of trails if we're going to get more than a drizzle. :) Actually, when I grade my trails using the box blade, I pitch them so water runs off. Most of my trails traverse the hillside so when I pitch it to the downhill side, it runs off pretty quickly. The trails are about 20 years old and I'd guess I've lost about 2-3" average due to erosion.
 
I leave the leaves like Dennis and Thunderdome ....but I get the dang ruts anyways. I let some hunt on our property and they had a razor type four wheeler. it appears it did a lot of damage / wear to the roads. I have my work cut out for me. Gettting some gravel to as many ruts as I can.
 
Everything......EVERYTHING IN N.W. Ga, like you Max, is booooming with blooms!!!!!! Far more than normal....Anyway, one of our peaches is a salmon red this year and loaded with huge double blooms.
lol....you know so don't keep us in suspense.....yes, a leaf or close up for the experts would be good........God bless....Dennis
 
Same here Dennis,and the giant yellow clouds keep blowing around.
I believe that this is a bush or shrub not a tree. It was set out there many years ago by my Dad. It is wide open in full bloom this year.(and early like everything else) Here is a close up.IMG_0585.jpg
 
bczoom I don't know what it is or is called. My Mom was very involved with the garden club at the national level and brought a little twig of this plant home with her one day. My Dad put it out in the yard where it still is today. I was just a kid when he planted it. I gave it a little fertilizer last year and wow it liked it. Mom got the sprig of it at the state botanical garden that she did work at with the garden club. I think that they were working on the development of the plant there at that time. Just wondered if anyone knew the name of it or what it is. Here is a pic of some kind of tree they put out. Wish I knew more about these. IMG_0583.jpg
 
The leaf of that first one sure looks like an azalea but it's a huge tree/bush.....The flower though looks like a bush honeysuckle.......Got you some pretty trees that is for sure.....When the air clears out of the pollen that the rain is gonna clean up am gonna go out to the front porch and take a pic of the dogwoods.....looks like a snowstorm out there this year. Don't know what happened but it's amazing the way things are blooming.........God bless.....Dennis
 
Below is what I found for the red bud.
What's in Thunder's picture has leaves that look like hairs. The "hair" looking leaves is what has me scratching my head.

Bc.........there are two trees we are discussing...........The second tree is the red bud which has no leaves as in your pic.......The tree is covered with blooms where there will soon be leaves......

The first tree is the mystery tree with bloom petals, not leaves are long "hair like" as you say..........the leaves of that tree are in the first pic......they are long roundish, waxy, more oval actually than round....that is what I see........

The red bud tree has heart shaped leaves that are not shown in the second tree...........
 
Snow it's not.....Just blooms totally exploding in the woods...........

This is almost funny...........NOT gonna get into some deal about what kind of tree God has blessed us with......All are beautiful....they are what they are.......I am just an old boy that knows that what we have are sure nice...........God bless........Dennis
 
Our Redbuds aren't active yet. When they fire up I'll get a pic. Ours don't look like that tree. Post forthcoming.
