You got good advice...all RTV models need this kit except (maybe) the RTV500, especially if you run around on dusty/dirt roads.

BTW, the RTV1100 kit was redesigned to lower the pre-cleaner to prevent it from hitting objects i.e. this redesign brought it below the roofline. Also, there was a foam piece added to the plastic intake tube (sandwiched between the this plastic intake and the cab) to prevent it from vibrating...

Yep, the muffler will crack around the flange where it bolts onto the engine (exhaust manifold). I have seen this happen many times...it was a design flaw and I'm pretty sure it didn't get fixed till after 2005. They added internal stiffener in the resonator portion to help prevent these...

Yes, make sure it gets a good seal when putting it back on.

Check the fuel tank relay/sensor...it's not easy to get to but it's doable.

Yeah, those propeller shafts are not the best but grease fittings on those shafts and where Deerlope mentions on the axle will help prevent wear and tear. You would think grease fittings or better sealed components would have been a no brainer, especially considering the environment these...

Yes, it does take care of the issues you mention. It took a few years for the Kubota designers to get right...better late than never I guess.

Yeah, the spark arrestor is unnecessary unless you run around on USFS (government) land.

It took Kubota awhile to get the gauges fixed, but I think they finally got them right about 1 year ago. The initial design was poor and the Japanese don't listen very well when improvements are suggested.

The rear axle bearings are pressed into the axle and have bearings seals/caps on them. Just remove these plastic seals/caps to gain access to the bearings...clean and repack them with grease, if needed. Be careful prying the seals/caps out - you don't want to damage them. If you damage them...

Yeah, good question but it sounds like the HID lights do not get as hot. The bulb socket on the RTV900 headlight housing is not the best on older models since they do not hold the bulbs in place well (on some units). In other words, the bulbs would get loose and melt the plastic headlight...
